Free Design Project _Hangar J 1000
Cooperative project with the Institute for Steel Structures, TU Braunschweig and the HAWK-Hildesheim.
On the grounds of the former Junkers aircraft factory in Dessau, an exhibition hangar with an area of about 2,500 square meters is to be built. The hangar building is understood as an extension of the Museum of Technology Dessau and is dedicated to aircraft and architectural visions of the German engineer and entrepreneur Hugo Junkers (1859 - 1935). One of the key exhibits includes an original "Ju 52" and a replica "flying wing J 1000", an aircraft, in which engines, fuel tanks, the crew, passengers and cargo in a single, continuous wing should be accommodated. Another focus of the exhibition are Junkers plans of a future metal architecture, inspired particularly by the connections to the nearby Bauhaus.
Final Presentation _Mo., 08.03.2010, 10.00 h, IMD

Drawing workshop _VisionTest
Thematic focus of this workshop is the graphic study of spatial vision and conscious awareness of specific vision conventions. The course seeks to examine how changes due to different views and techniques of the view of the depiction, and what impact this might have on the drawing. To explore this question, graphic and printmaking methods are used, such as screen printing, etching and high pressure, which can be tested in the printing workshop of the IMD.

Video project _Space images and image areas
In almost all areas of our urban environment, an increasing relevance of mediated images of space can be observed: Everything is recorded with cameras, and some gets its ultimate significance only because of its visually-media playback. In the seminar "Space images and image areas", the interdependence of city and picture should be placed at the center of attention: with the medium of video recorded clips of a real place are not to remain in the two-dimensional "window" of a traditional media playback monitor, but are - as projections on a scale of 1:1 - thrown back into the staggering depths of the city.
For the implementation of the project, the spectacular, currently vacant premises of the former Brunswick Telecommunications Office are available for the participants of the seminar. The project will be accompanied by the international video artist Philipp Geist.
Final Presentation _Mo., 29.03.2010, , 17.00 h, former Brunswick Telecommunications Office
